Main characteristics The New Bridge over the Cavaco River is a mixed superstructure of steel/concrete, composed of a 172 m long and 18 m wide deck. It has two abutments and five columns, all supported on 56 piles.

The main works were: Geotechnical research, Piling, Cofferdams, Reinforced concrete foundations, Reinforced concrete columns, Bearings, Metallic structure, Reinforced concrete deck, Paving, Finishes (electrical, traffic signs, drainage, etc…)

Restoration of a bridge over the river Cunene - Xangongo

Main characteristics New abutments were made, and 8 metallic piles were driven with their own beams across the top in order to sustain the metallic structure of the bridge.

All work was performed without stopping traffic flow.

Restoration of the new Cachoeiras bridge - Kwanza Sul

Main characteristics The new cachoeiras bridge over the River Queve, was destroyed in the war and completely rebuilt. Total length: 252 metres. The bridge is composed of 18 sections of 14 metres each.

The works also included the painting of the super structure, paving, equipping with traffic signs and drainage.

Design and construction of a dock - Porto Amboím

Assignment Design and construction of a dock in Porto Amboím
Localization Província do Kwanza Sul, Porto Amboím
Main characteristics The structure consists of a 15 x 25 m2 mooring platform constructed in a zone with a depth of between 6 to 7 m, in reference to HZ permitting, therefore, the mooring of boats with a draught of up to 6 m.

The platform is connected to land by a 5 m wide and 75 m long passageway. The passageway terminates on land in a reinforced concrete supporting pillar containing the fill of the dock access platform.

The mooring platform has 12 twenty ton berths, 12 rings for tying up smaller vessels and ladders (8 in total) to provide access to the vessels at low tide. The passageway contains a metal guard rail

Renovation of bridge over River Keve - Kwanza Sul

Assignment Renovation of bridge over River Keve – Waco-Cungo / Huambo road
Localization Waco-Cungo / Alto Hama Road – Kwanza Sul province
Main characteristics The recovery of this bridge enabled the crossing between the Provinces of South Kuanza and Huambo, reducing the land link between Luanda and Huambo by approximately 3 hours.

Total length of the bridge – 197.3 m
Length of the recovered part of the bridge – 130.7 m
Length of the new part of the bridge – 66.60 m

The recovery work included reinforcement of the existing pillars (including pre-stress in rods), painting, surfacing, signalling and drainage.

The new part is made up of 3 beams, using prefabricated and pre-stressed reinforced concrete beams and prefabricated reinforced concrete flagstones, with the final platform concreted in situ

Construction of a Bridge over the River Dande - Dande

Assignment Construction of a Bridge over the River Dande at Barra do Dande
Localization Republic of Angola, Bengo province, Dande
Main characteristics The River Dande Bridge consists of a single segment reinforced and pre-stressed concrete superstructure containing a 105 m long and 10 m wide beamed slab deck, supported by three piers and reinforced concrete abutments.

The abutments have indirect foundations, using eight form-in-place foundation piles. The pier foundations are formed of pairs of formed-in-place column piles that are also 1.20m in diameter and 45m deep.

The following main works were performed: form-in-place piles, coffer dams, foundation blocks, reinforced concrete abutments and piers, assembly of falsework, pre-stressed reinforced concrete deck, paving and finishing work.

Main characteristics The Barra do Dande – Libongos Road is a greenfield construction. It is 17 km long and has a standard profile with a width of 10 m (2x3.5m + 2x1.5m).

The pavement comprises 15 cm thick sub-base and base layers, levelled with a 10 cm layer of binder and covered with a 5 cm bituminous concrete wear course.

The following main works were performed: earthworks, construction of drainage elements, paving and installation of road signs and signalling.

Main characteristics The new bridge over the River Queve, in Malange, was partially destroyed during the armed conflict. It is going to be rebuilt by Conduril, which will make it possible to make the crossing between the provinces of Kwanza Sul and Malange.

The rebuilding work includes:
Reinforcement of existing pad footings and pillars, replacement of destroyed pillars and arches, widening of the entire deck;

PAENAL Yard - Kwanza Sul

Main characteristics PAENAL, Porto Amboim Estaleiros Navais Limitada, is a joint venture between SONANGOL and Single Buoy Moorings.

It will be also equipped to implement projects for the transformation of former Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC) to Floating Production Storage Offloading vessels (FPSOs), and other related activities.

HEEREMA Marine Supply Base

Main characteristics The HEEREMA Marine Contractors marine base has an area of 15 ha where a 370-metre mooring berth was constructed and three main production buildings were built. Spaces were also created for offices, canteens and dormitories, all fully-equipped. This base has a system of infrastructures complete with a 7 MW electricity plant, a compressor yard, electrical distribution, compressed air, fuel, fibre optics, water and drains. A desalination plant and a wastewater treatment plant were also installed.
This base will provide support to offshore activities for Bloco 31 and other future projects in the energy field. The main activity will be welding and storing pipes necessary to the oil industry.

Benguela railway overpass

Assignment Rehabilitation of the Road and Bridges between Ganda and Catengue, Km 113,600
Localization National road Benguela – Huambo (km 83.3), Benguela Province, Angola
Main characteristics The new Benguela railway bridge is built exclusively in reinforced concrete, consisting of a single deck, 11.0 metres in width and with a total length of 12.0 metres between support axes (the original cut and vertical form being maintained).
The foundations are indirect and laid using piles with a diameter of 0.60 metres and average height of 20.0 metres. The abutments are frame type, made up of a stirrup beam supporting the deck which lays on five piles and side walls for containing transition earthworks.
The containing walls will also undergo restoration work, in particular, the elimination of voids, protection of reinforcements and reconstruction of crest.
The maximum height of the slope is approximately 7.00 metres.

Bridge over the River Capaca

Localization National road Benguela – Huambo (km 83.3), Benguela Province, Angola
Main characteristics The new bridge over the River Capaca will be built exclusively from reinforced and prestressed concrete. The bridge superstructure is made up of a single deck with a total length of 20.0 metres between support axes. The abutments are closed and the foundations indirect – reinforced concrete piling with a diameter of 0.60 metres.
The deck will be made up of eight prefabricated girders (“I”-shaped), in reinforced and prestressed concrete, each one with a length of 20 metres. Each girder weighs approximately 16 tons, permitting them to be lifted by light equipment.
Total length of bridge: 26.90 metres.
