Main characteristics The project consists of the construction of 3 bridges, namely:

1- Licungo III: A bridge 80.70m long and 5.00m high, with indirect foundations with driven piles (length between 12 and 15m, A=0.40 x 0.40m, 78 piles). The deck consists of four spans with four girders each, each girder weighing approximately 40 tonnes. Concrete = 940m³; Steel = 121 tonnes; Formwork: 867m² (mixed formwork) with the exception of the formwork for the prefabricated girders; Prestressed: Longitudinal with four strands per girder and transversal in the area of the cross girders and in the entire plate girder section.

2- Licungo II: A bridge 50.00m long and 5.00m high, with indirect foundations with drilled piles (length between 10 and 17m, D=2.00m, 3 piles). The deck consists of two spans with four girders each, each girder weighing approximately 47 tonnes. Concrete: Approx. = 403m³; Steel = 44 tonnes; Formwork: 445m² (mixed formwork) with the exception of the formwork for the prefabricated girders; Prestressed: Longitudinal with four strands per girder and transversal in the area of the cross girders and in the entire plate girder section.

3 - Cuacua I: A bridge 110.00m long and 8.50m high, with indirect foundations with driven piles (length between 14 and 17.5m, A=0.40 x 0.40m, 68 piles). The deck consists of five spans with three girders each, each girder weighing approximately 40 tonnes. Concrete = 965m³; Steel = 124 tonnes; Formwork: 1756m² (mixed formwork) with the exception of the formwork for the prefabricated girders; Prestressed: Longitudinal with four strands per girder and transversal in the area of the cross girders and in the entire plate girder section.

Main characteristics The project consists of the construction of three bridges in Manica Province, with a total length of 440m and of the demolition of the old bridges. The River Nhancuarara will have a 60m long bridge resting on direct foundations. Its two pillars and abutments will have an average height of six metres. This construction work will require 1,500 m³ of reinforced concrete and 220 tonnes of steel. The Lucite Bridge will be 220m long, completely resting on direct foundations. Its ten pillars and abutments will have an average height of nine metres. This construction work will require 3,500m³ of reinforced concrete and 520 tonnes of steel. The Mussapa Bridge, 15 metres high and with a total length of 160m, has one of its abutments resting on direct foundations and the other, as with its seven pillars, on indirect foundations. The final structure will use 3,550m³ of reinforced concrete and 530 tonnes of steel. The decks, which will be similar on all of the bridges, with 20m spans between pillars, will rest on prefabricated girders and slabs, providing a 7.20m wide roadway.

Rehabilitation of infrastructures along the Limpopo railway line

Main characteristics The project consists of the rehabilitation of the infrastructures along the Limpopo railway line, in particular the construction work on all of the station buildings in Manhiça, Magude, Chòkwé, Mabalane, Combomune, M´Púzi, Mapai and Chicualacuala and replacement of the water and electricity supply systems. The nature of the work presented is as described below, being a) Construction work: general repair of plaster on walls, cement screed on pavements, carpentry, metalwork, roofs and painting; b) Water supply: replacement of entire water supply system to the stations and to the resident population in the nearby areas via drinking fountains. Wells were rehabilitated and/or built for water abstraction; c) Energy: rehabilitation work was done on the entire electricity supply system to the stations and to the exterior, along the railway line, between the points. In the case of Mabalane, Combomune, M´Púzi, Mapai and Chicualacuala stations, generating units were installed to supply electricity.
The main obstacle to the implementation of the contract work was logistical, given the long distance over which the project extends. The distance between the furthermost stations, from a geographical point of view, Manhiça to Chicualacuala, is 520km.

Main characteristics Replacement of a railway bridge in pre-ruin by a new one. The work consisted of the creation of new abutments and placement of a new board, metallic, with just one span with the old bridge in full operation, with only the necessary limiting speed of compositions for security reasons. New abutments were constructed in concrete, with indirect foundations. The whole procedure was performed within 4 months with a traffic stop at the end of imperatively 48 hours:
- Demolition of the old bridge and respective pillars;
- Concreting of the inside face of the new abutments;
- Application of prefabricated elements in structural elements of concrete;
- Installation of a new board on the new support equipment previously placed;
- Placement of a new route over the bridge and 10m on each side.

Main activities:
- Execution of 16 piles of concrete with 800mm diameter and 11m average depth;
- 270 m3 of concrete including the piles;
- 35 tons of steel applied, including piles;
- Construction of shipping and road transportation of the new board with 21m span and 40 tones after completion;
- Construction of shipping and road transportation and assembly of walkways and guardrails.
- Works on the route on a length of 40 m;
- Slope finishing work;
